Robin Gayle
Robin Gayle Wright was the daughter of
Gayle (Gaston) and was a national director at Mary Kay and Freddie Wright who
was a pharmacist executive. She was raised in San Diego. She began her career
as a model in 1980 at age 14, and was a model in Paris and Japan. After
finishing high school she decided to become an actor. She was cast in the soap
opera Santa Barbara (1984), where she was nominated three more times for
Daytime Emmys. Dane Witherspoon was her fellow cast participant, and she got
married to Dane in 1986. In 1987, she portrayed the title role in The Princess
Bride. She was in the role of Santa Barbara but left to appear in Denial (1990)
alongside Jason Patric. She became acquainted with Sean Penn in 1990 while she
was in State of Grace (1990). They had a daughter Dylan Frances with him and an
infant son called Hopper Jack. Robin returned to Hollywood with Tara, one of
the most important roles in her career, following her time. She was absolutely
stunning and amazing. Then, she appeared in Toys (1992) together with Robin
Williams. She gave an amazing performance. Wright played the role of Jenny in
the blockbuster smash Forrest Gump (1994), co-starring with Tom Hanks. Wright
was nominated for the Golden Globe Award for her role as Jenny. She was offered
a minor role in The Crossing Guard (1995) which starred Jack Nicholson. After
rejecting 14 roles she finally got the main part in MGM/UA's Moll Flanders
(1996). Pen Densham directed her and Stockard Channing was the lead. In the
following film, she co-starred with William Hurt in Erin Dignam’s Loved (1997).
