Sofia Margarita Vergara

Sofia Margarita Vergara is a Colombian-American actress and a presenter. Vergara was the highest-paid actress on American television between 2013 and 2020. Vergara rose in prominence during her time hosting two programs on Univision's Spanish-language television network in the mid-90s. Chasing Papi (2003) was her first major acting role in English. In the following years, she was a part of Four Brothers (2006) and Tyler Perry's comedy Jail (2008). She was nominated for an ALMA Award for the former. She began her career as Gloria Delgado–Pritchett in ABC's comedy series Modern Family, for which she was awarded four Golden Globe Awards, four Primetime Emmy Awards and eleven Screen Actor Guild Awards. Her voice-overs included Happy Feet Two (2011) and Escape from Planet Earth (2013). She was also a part of The Emoji Movie (2017). Vergara was the highest-paid Hollywood actress in 2020[citation requiredfor 2020[citation needed]. Since 2020, Vergara has been a judge on America's Got Talent. Vergara was born into a Roman Catholic family in Barranquilla.  Her mother, Margarita Vergara de Vergara, was a homemaker, and her father, Julio Enrique Vergara Robayo, was a cattle rancher in the meat industry. Five of her siblings and a lot of her relatives called her "Toti". Vergara was a first-year student at the National University of Colombia in dentistry. Then she quit after two semesters to pursue modeling and show business.
